The Dolomites

The Dolomites, also known as the "Pale Mountains," were awarded the prestigious title of UNESCO Natural Heritage in 2009, thanks to their extraordinary uniqueness. These mountains are not only a natural wonder but are also shrouded in fascinating stories and legends. One legend tells of King Laurin and his rose garden being responsible for the beautiful red hue at dusk.

But the Dolomites conceal many other captivating legends and stories. For example, there's the tale of Dolasilla, the princess of our Fanes-Senes-Braies Natural Park. Along a charming trail that crosses our village, you can read her compelling story on illustrated boards.

Furthermore, the Dolomites are the homeland of the Ladin people, also known as Rhaeto-Romans, with a millennia-old language dating back to the Roman Empire, even predating Italian, Spanish, and French. The Ladins carry forward a unique culture and traditions that identify them under the banner of nature's colors: green like the meadows, white like the snow, and blue like the sky.

Spending a vacation in the Dolomites is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a world of beauty, history, and culture. Photos and videos of the Dolomites are just a glimpse of what you can experience during your visit to this magical land.
